The South Pacific Electric Railway operated as the Sydney Tram Museum and had been in existence for 50 years. The group is based at Loftus with lines to the north towards Sutherland and to the east into the Royal National Park on the disused line to the old National Park Railway station. It hoped to be able to extend the northern connection to Sutherland Station.
